Mitch claims he needs a truck. Well, here she is...Big Bertha. Unlike my vehicle, I had no problem coming up with a name for this truck. As soon as I opened the door to view this beauty, it just hit me. Big Bertha...you're home, we've missed you, we must have known you in the previous life.
It is so much easier to name the older vehicles. They have great character.
Facts...
*bought her for $700
*he put $300 into her for "proper" functioning
*justified it to haul trees and mulch for the yard
*just got back from a huge dump run
*while riding in it I feel closer to my roots
*strongly encouraging him to sell it when the yard is finished and make a profit
Features...
*the beautiful blue really brings out her headlights
*bigger bed
*electric windows
*my personal favorite, randomly hongs!
Unfortunately my favorite feature has been "fixed." She's just not the same anymore.

You sure keep me laughing!
Welcome to the family, Big Birtha. She's a gem! I hope to cruise Heber's Main Street in her sometime in the very near future.
Was it $700 to purchase OR $700 to fill her up? Just wonderin... :)
Thanks for always making me smile, Katie. Your blog is the best.
oh my goodness! We went for a walk around the "hood" tonight and Chris said "I thought you said Mitch sold his truck... It looks like he got a new one." I must admit though, trucks are definitely an asset when finishing your yard!
I am always impressed with the vehicles at the Nelson home. I love the name. You guys are so great!
you come to salem and we will have dinner when you get here. whatever time. the table is set.
by the way, i luv that you clench and grind when you hold babies. i don't think i've ever met anyone else who does that...or at least has admitted to it. i do it when i hold babies, play with cute dogs and cuddle my husband.
also, just wanted to mention...that little dollface daughter of yours...she looks exactly like you.
happy new truck to you!
also, i wanted to agree with bryn's comment regarding jasmine. who wants to try an ice cream cone, jaz, when your giving away the whole dairy?
thanks for all your love.
I love the new truck! My brother John had one like that and we called him "Big Blue".
As for your last entry about your quirks...I was reminded of the summer after 8th grade...Dairy Keen...chocolate shakes and fries. Good times.
I am basically rolling on the ground in laughter. Its a good thing you husband has a wife who finds beauty in all things. I have a feeling my reaction may have been slightly different...
HEY, she looks familiar...did you get her from my next door neighbor's driveway? Seriously, because if not, she has an identical twin living next door to me!!!
Birtha! Ha, that is perfect! Richie was just sitting here lusting over her... must be a guy thing! I bet she's perfect for cruisin' Main Street!
Love it.
