belated christmas present

be-lat-ed adj
occurring after the appropriate or expected time, especially too late to be effective or useful
Definition described the situation perfectly.
For some unfortunate reason Mitch recently remembered a Christmas gift that he forgot to give me. It is only 5 months late, but could have gone longer.
Mitch: "I accidently forgot to give this to you. Merry Christmas."
Me: "Oh no. A cat calendar. How generous."

Important side note: I strongly dislike cats.
Mitch knows this, but he just couldn't resist.

Katie, I was just getting caught up on blogs. You are so cute. I love the glass voting process. I think you made the wise choice in that selection. I also like that it gave an acceptance speech.

I think you should post the cat calendar in the most annoying place in your house. That way Mitch can truely enjoy it everyday!

ok-one year my kids gave me a "Cat Fancy" subscription--it's a magazine--but you probably know that!! They would go into hysterics everytime it came in the mail. I never read it but it was so funny, is Mitch really a Wagner?

Thank you for the birthday treat. You are such a sweet friend!
Cat calendars rule... if you're in the second grade and have no friends.
Also, Dallas and I came to the conclusion that the infamous "make up" dinner should be at our house with our own butter.

Haha! I think that's the perfect belated Christmas gift. I mean, it's a ridculously cheesy present made worse by the fact that it's half useless. Cracks me up!

I can't wait to see where it will proudly be displayed! (garage maybe?)
