Reflecting on Motherhood

This week so many people that I love and care about have entered or re-entered the noble position of being a Mother. I have been reflecting on what an important role this is, and what a miracle it is to have a child. Though some people may think of this topic lightly, I do not. It truly is a miracle to get pregnant, carry the baby, and deliver. Life is a miracle! I know that Mother's Day isn't for a few more weeks, but I can't wait until then to express how I feel about these amazing individuals.

Andrea-My friend since 8th grade had her beautiful baby girl at 28 1/2 weeks. She has endured so much to bring this sweet little girl life. She has been on bedrest since week 14. They are both still in the hospital, but doing well. I admire Andrea so much!

Andy & Jana-Andy is one of my close guy friends from high school. We still keep in touch, and get together with our spouses/families at least twice a year. His wonderful wife Jana also has been on bedrest, and delivered her baby boy about 4 weeks early.

Nicole-We've been friends for about 8 yrs, and met through our husbands who served missions together. She also delivered a boy.

Lisa-My cousin. She is 5 1/2 months along, and just found out today that her baby is not doing well. Lisa's blood pressure is alarmingly high, and the baby's heart rate is alarmingly low. We just found out that Lisa has been hospitalized and the baby will not make it. I cannot imagine her pain right now.

Marcae-Roommate from college, and is one of my closest friends. We are all anxiously awaiting the arrival of her beautiful baby girl!

I just want to express my love to all of these amazing woman, and thank them for their selflessness, service, and sacrafices. You are all examples to me. Thank you for being such great Mothers!

Katie....you are such an amazing mom! Thanks for sharing your thoughts, I agree with you 100%. I have to admit, I struggle with the whole motherhood thing and look to others for support. Thanks for always being a listening ear.
