"I'm sorry Miss Telemarketer Lady. You were doing a great job. It wasn't you, it was me. Please don't blame yourself."
Feeling so guilty for the way I treated a telemarketer. The lady called while I was teaching L&L last night, and I was cold and rude. For the rest of the night I felt so guilty! She has feelings, she didn't deserve it, she was calling for a good cause...
I am currently wishing she would call back, and I could handle the situation differently. Maybe I could take more of a "Mitch approach." He calls them by their name, asks questions to throw them off their original game/routine, and sometimes goes in for personal questions. It's like he's just talking to one of his friends.

Mitch has to be careful like that because more than not it is one of his friends!!
I am glad I am not the only one who feels guilty if I am rude to them! So Burke's dad is hysterical when they call. When we were there, one called to tell him he had won a trip to California (all he had to do was attend a seminar....you know those ones) He asked her if they had accomidations for quadrapledgics...She had to ask him what that was...she thought it was a place. lol. She hung up on him as soon as he told her! So as I was typing this--at 8:45 am no less--I had a telemarketer call! lol.

Love how Burke's Dad responded. Even funnier that she didn't know what it was!
I am not a fan of them as well...in fact I was quite rude one time and Dan also said that they are just doing their job. I then felt bad as well...sorry about that!
I was a telemarketer once, you know, Cedar Woods Financial?? Great memories, rude customers, memories of Jamie calling back a "rude" customer begging to be BFF's! Good times.
Ok Katie, when I read that I decided that this week I'm going to try to be more like Katie Nelson. It is "Be nice to soliciters week" for me!!
