Today I've been informed by my guy and my mom that redheads experience more pain. They both read the same article online, and were sure to let me know about the "new findings." Maybe new to them, but not to me. This is something I've always known. Like the time I was a bagger girl at Duke's IGA, and I fainted on the job in the parking lot. At the time I told my Dad that I was overworked and underpaid. The truth was I hit my funny bone on someone's car door while loading their groceries, then woke up moments later on the parking lot ground with a crowd hovering over me.
Or how about the time during labor, when I was certain I was a 12+, then they checked and I was only a 4. See, I was just experiencing more pain than the average individual. I knew it!
Last but not least, the pain of the emotional trauma from being teased as a little girl. My own brother called me the redheaded step-child. Thanks for that scar Spencer, it's always stuck with me. He used to try to convince me that I was adopted, which is funny b/c we look a lot alike.
My hair has been blamed for many things. I've had three different nurses tell me that redheads bleed more. I have also heard that redheads have a temper. I have no idea what they are talking about? I am extremely calm, cool, and collective at all times. Just ask Mitch.

You crack me up, dear. haha I adore your beautiful hair, but I should let you know - EVERY SINGLE ONE of the problems I've ever had in my life - its all b/c of my curly hair. For real. :) haha
we love red hair at this house! and yes- sorry love- red heads do tend to bleed more after having their babies!
Haha!!!
I've been told all of these things too - (even the red-headed stepchild one, which I really happen to be, dang it!)
You are gorgeous - I would take your hair any day!! Glad to see that Luke is doing well!
Did it mention redheads, or at least this one I know, are pretty sweet friends, always game for a good time, awesome to travel/party with and all around cool? Thought so.
I think redhead have a greater capacity to love to. That one seems to fit you better than all the others but I'm sending sympathy your way for the extra pain of child birth. That's classic about fainting from hitting your funny bone though. I so miss you. Hopefully we'll get in touch soon. How is the preschool prep going? I'm so making the drive to bring Afton.jk. Oh by the way, in case you forgot about the promise I made you about coming back in full force, I didn't. I'm making it, about ten posts at a time. Look forward to getting back in touch. Love your hair, love your blog, love you even more.
I had never heard the "more pain" part...hmmm I'll have to think about that. I too was called the red-headed step child and I've always gotten the "hot temper" comment which I don't see in you at all! Me, that's another story! Thankful none of my kids is a red-head!
Katie! This post made me laugh. And I can't believe how big your kids are! CRAZY!!! Love your cute fam!
I think redheads have more fun. I don't know of anyone who has more fun that you!!
You're Funny...WAY FUNNY...and Beautiful
Oh Katie you make me so happy. I just love you! Have a wonderful weekend! ~mare
Diddo! But don't tell anyone else--I don't want to look weak.
I just wanted you to know that Shelby's FAVORITE book right now is by Julianne Moore. It's called "Freckleface Strawberry". She says when she grows up she will have beautiful long red hair and be covered in freckles. :) She wants to be just like Ms. Katie and her Auntie Julie. Keep that in mind.
Ok I know you are considering cutting your hair-DONT. It is so beautiful! By the way which email should I send the blog invite to? (because we are so interesting)
