The Highlight of my Summer...

Demolition Derby
Those who know me, know that I obsessed with this event. I plan my entire Summer around it, and buy tickets early. For some odd reason the derby brings me so much joy.
Simply put, I love it!During the truck session, one of them flipped! Pictured below is one truck on top of the other.

We wanted to go last year and this year but I am always too late to get tickets. What is the secret to getting tickets? Please share...

OH I so wish I could talk Jeff into the fact that this is fun and really so cool. Looks like you guys had a great time. Next time you have to let s know in advance so we can go. Love the hat by the way. I'd sport them everyday too if I looked that cute in them.

can't bring myself to go...I grew up in the back yard of the derby with the smoke and noise and people parking in FRONT of my driveway so I couldn't get out...although one of my best Fair Days memories is sitting at the derby watching the barefoot girl with the denim blue/white striped pants walk through the dirt carrying her diaper clad baby. Good times!

I was so mad I had to miss the derby this year! Dallas' brother got married on Saturday in WY. Bummer. I was hoping that for some reason it was dreadful this year so I wouldn't feel like I missed anything.

Hey! We were driving home from camping in the Uintahs and we drove past the stadium during this event. Remember when we all went together? Steve still remembers it and wants to go again. He was looking for scalpers to buy tickets but Wyatt was beyond EXHAUSTED and it just wasn't happening... maybe next year.

I was there too. Too bad I didn't see you. One of my best good friends was in the powder puff (Jayne Muir) and her husband drove also. It was great. They got us tickets right in the front row. You always look cute no matter what you wear. It's not fiar.

I am counting on you being a participant in next year's derby. Count me in for sure next year!

I agree with Marc, you definitely need to drive a car in this, Katie! Looks fun. And I love the hat.

Oh the pain! I couldn't go, but on a happy note, driving in downtown apia is like a derby every day complete with smashed in windshields and everything.

Hi, I just saw your comment on a friend's blog, you didn't know her and I don't know you, but funny story... so we were at the Demolition Derby too and from the angle of your pictures it looks like we were sitting in the same vicinity. Small world!

Okay, so now that I know about it we will have to go. Pete did toss the 1st one and the one you gave to me- until I explained. We are excited to take full advantage next year and hopefully a little this year too. Thanks again! ;)

It was a really good derby this year, I can see myself in the picture of the truck that's flipped over. We were sitting in the bleachers right behind it.
